ME 15

Date: 8/10/04

Starting Location: Horseshoe Canyon Lean-to
Destination: ME 15
Miles: 9.0
Total Miles: 2068.4

One last short day heading into the town of Monson, ME before beginning the 100-mile wilderness tomorrow. Also, my last day alone on the trail since my friend Gerry from home is meeting me tonight to finish the trail with me.

Spending the night at the trail famous Shaw’s Lodging with all of the gang, seemingly with a mix of anticipation for the 100+ miles to go and a lack of desire for this big adventure to come to an end. Feels good to be here—my last hostel, my last hitchhike into town, and all of my friends here with the big exception of my longtime friend Footloose. I hope he’s well, back down the trail with his daughter Jan. The final stretch awaits tomorrow at the entrance to the 100-mile wilderness.
