Absolutely incredible. There are no other words for this day. An entire day of sunshine, blue skies, and almost no wind crossing the whole of the northern Presidentials; all this in a place known for having the worst weather on the entire planet.
I awoke this morning to find more thick fog, only to have it part into sunshine as Mt. Washington appeared from the clouds just a mile and half north, though seeming to loom directly overhead. The timing couldn't be any more perfect today.
I strolled along with Walk On all afternoon doing short miles and just enjoying the weather on some very rugged and rocky trail. Being turned away from Madison Spring Hut in the evening was the day’s only low spot. So, we just chugged on 3 long miles farther down the trail to a very quiet Osgood Tentsite. We're both so tired, we just threw down our pads on the tent platform and rolled out our sleeping bags to cowboy camp underneath the stars.
